You’re taking the family on a vacation to San Francisco, and you need to find a hotel, but not just any hotel. You want to find one of the best family hotels in San Francisco. Maybe you’ve been saving up for this vacation and you want to get your money’s worth, but not break the bank. If you’ve booked your hotel through a travel agent he or she can usually handle this for you as well, but if not, it’s not that difficult to handle yourself.

To start your search for the best family hotels in San Francisco, you need look no further than the internet. There are many sites listed that can help you plan kid and family friendly trips. Sites such as Trip advisor, can help you plan and book your entire trip.

A great site called travel for kids.com states not only should the trip be fun for kids, so should the hotel. It then proceeds to list hotels assorted according to location. For instance, you planning on visiting Fisherman’s Wharf, you might want to stay at the Hotel Del Sol. It has bunk beds, board games and toys, along with a queen and sofa beds, swimming, and free parking. A note here, the site warns that some hotel parking can be quite costly in addition to the room rates. It’s something you might need to keep in mind.

The rate for Hotel Del Sol? About $200.00 a night. Comfort Inn by the Bay in the Marina district starts at 89.00 a night. For that you can get cribs, complimentary breakfast and free parking. You can get tickets and book hotels through this site as well.

Another site called Five Star Alliance has put together information on the best family friendly luxury hotels in the city. If you really mean “best”, this is the place to look However, while the site does give you information about the hotel in general, it doesn’t say specifically what each has available for children. The two hotels located in San Francisco listed are the Fairmont and the W San Francisco. I did notice that both of these hotels are also listed on the travel for kids.com site. A site called Frommers.com mentions that the Fairmont has a tropical room called the Tonga Room,  which has “rainfall”. It also mentions the Hotel Del Sol,  and one called the Hotel Metropolis that has child sized amenities including rubber ducks in the bathroom.

Don’t forget about sites such as Expedia, Orbitz, Travelocity and Priceline. Once you find the best family hotels in San Francisco, they might be able to get you better rates. Of course, room rates and availability often depend on the days of the week, and times of the year. With so much to see and do, you’ll find the best family hotels in San Francisco a great place to come back to at the end of the day. After all, your hotel is part of your vacation experience as well. Good luck hotel hunting, and enjoy your vacation.
