Summer’s here and that means one thing: holidays! Thousands of Brits will travel on cheap flights to Barcelona between now and September, and the Catalonian city, one of the world’s leading tourist destinations, is easily accessible on routes from a number of UK airports.

Barcelona is famed for the influence of Antonio Gaudi and his unique architectural style. His crowning glory, the Sagrada Familia, is a colossal church in the city centre that has been under construction for over a century.

Gaudi’s influence is felt all over the city, and many visitors to Barcelona stare up at the buildings surrounding them in amazement at the unique and quirky architectural styles. This influence isn’t limited to buildings, but extends all the way to Park Guell, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Barcelona’s most popular green space.

Barcelona, the capital of the Catalan region, is an incredible destination in its own right, but the city is located close to some destinations that are just as impressive, albeit for different reasons. Many visitors choose to explore the gorgeous Costa Brava and the beautiful holiday resorts that it contains.

For an altogether different city break destination, many Brits travel to the other side of the world on cheap flights to Sydney. Australia’s biggest, oldest and most diverse city is perhaps most famous for its harbour and the Sydney Harbour Bridge that spans it.

Most people who travel to Sydney are struck by how many people seem to be outside – from the nearby beaches to the buzzing cafes, Sydney is definitely a city to be explored outside and is undoubtedly one of Australia’s highlights. Indeed, some Australians will tell you that the rest of the country is jealous of the city – so why not travel there to see what all the fuss is about?

If you fancy yourself as the adventurous type, then the Far East may appeal. Increasing numbers of Brits are discovering the wonders of Laos holidays, and the somewhat undiscovered nation has plenty to tempt even the most seasoned travellers.

Home to the most perfectly preserved environment in the Far East, Laos also has among the most relaxed populations on the planet, something that has dramatically boosted its reputation in the travel world. The country is developing quickly – so consider travelling there sooner rather than later so experience some true Asian charm.
